How to Remove Unused Photos
Table of Contents
When creating your project, you can add as many photos as you like, as long as each photo is under 16 MB. To keep your project file size manageable, you can remove any photos you aren’t using.
Remove All Unused Photos at Once
To quickly clear out unused images:
- Click the Advanced button.
- Select Remove Unused Images.
All unused photos in the Media Tray at the bottom will be removed from the project you’re currently working on.

Remove Photos Individually
If you’d rather remove photos one by one:
- Make sure the Media Tray is open and showing your photos.
- Click Manage Photos to open the Photo Manager.
- You’ll see a red “x” for photos not used in the project and a green check for photos that are in use.
- Click the red “x” to delete an unused photo from the project.

Important: If a photo is being used in your project, you’ll need to remove it from the page first:
- Click the green check in the Photo Manager to jump to the page where the photo appears.
- Close the Photo Manager.
- Click on the photo on the page.
- Press the Delete key on your keyboard or click the Remove Photo button in the upper-left corner.
- Return to the Photo Manager to delete the photo from the project completely.
