Why Aren't My Images Uploading?
Table of Contents
If you’re having trouble uploading images to your Picaboo project, it could be due to one of several common issues. Below, we outline the main reasons and how to fix them.
1. Unsupported File Type
Picaboo supports the following image file types:
- JPG – The most universal and widely used image format.
- PNG – Supports transparent backgrounds, perfect for special effects like Embellishments.
- HEIC – Captured on Apple iPhones.
⚠️ Note: Other file types, such as .tiff, are not currently supported. You will need to convert them to JPG or PNG before uploading. We may expand supported formats in the future.
2. File Size Too Large
Picaboo has a 16 MB limit per image. If your image is larger than this, it will not upload. Use the steps below to reduce the file size:
On Mac:
- Open the image in the Preview app.
- Go to Tools > Adjust Size.
- Check Resample image and enter a lower value in the Resolution field.
- Save your changes; the new file size is displayed at the bottom.
On Windows:
- Right-click the image and select Open with Photos.
- Click the three horizontal dots (top-right) and select Resize.
- Choose a size option (S-Small / M-Medium / L-Large / C-Custom) and save.
3. Image Already Uploaded
If you see a warning that your image has already been uploaded:
- Check your Media Tray to confirm the image is there.
- Picaboo prevents duplicate uploads in the same project to keep your media organized.
Following these steps should resolve most upload issues. If you continue to experience problems, please contact our support team for further assistance.
