Can I add birthdays and other special occasions to my calendar?

You can easily add birthdays and special occasions by clicking on the date square. A window will appear where you can enter a caption for that day. You have also an option to save the occasion for future calendar.
When creating a new calendar, previously saved birthdays will appear in the left panel under calendar options. Simply check the boxes next to the dates you’d like to include.
